Why St.Paul’s School?
We nurture young hearts and minds through excellent early education, Christ-centered care, and a welcoming community for families in Greenville.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Our Story
St. Paul’s School (SPS) is a ministry of St. Paul’s Church (SPC). SPC is a loving community of believers in the heart of Greenville with the simple goal of knowing Jesus and making Him known in our daily lives – in our city, homes, neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and wherever else the Holy Spirit leads. SPS was born out of a desire and need to raise an equipped generation of believers. We hope to nurture hearts and grow minds. By providing an exceptional early childhood education and sharing the gospel, SPS seeks to join with families to strengthen the kingdom. Our goal is to be a school where both academic excellence and biblical truth are priorities.
Excellent Early Education
In the classrooms of SPS, it is our hope to blend the teaching of heart and mind and, in doing so, create classrooms full of children who love learning. It is our privilege to be knowledge bearers and change makers.
As we strive to implement best teaching practices, we will remain passionate in linking what we know about how the brain learns with how we teach. We know God created all children with a longing to explore and discover the world around them. We are to build upon this natural curiosity and lead children to become active participants in their learning experience.
We believe that early exposure to the foundations of language and literacy is essential to growing strong readers and writers. It is our privilege to help children build a lasting enthusiasm for exploring the world around them. Our prayer is that this enthusiasm for learning will lead them to find more Jesus.
Christ-Centered Teaching
In teaching truth, it is our hope that all children who enter the doors of SPS will leave with a deep understanding of the Father’s love – his “never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love.” It is our privilege to be vessels of this love. As we journey through the stories of the Bible, we pray we can help children know Jesus in a real way – as their rescuer, their healer, and their friend. Jesus calls the children to come to Him, and it is our joy to lead them along the path.
Welcoming Community
We believe preschool is not just for children — it’s for families. We cultivate a supportive, connected community where parents feel informed, encouraged, and involved in their child’s growth. From open communication to family events and everyday interactions, we partner together to create a place where both children and parents feel they truly belong.
OUR CURRICULUM
Qualified. Collaborative. Exploratory.
SPS is licensed by the South Carolina Department of Social Services.
All staff members are First Aid and CPR certified.
Teachers are qualified in early education and pursue academic, developmental, and content area training to ensure students are receiving the best possible instruction.
Teachers plan collaboratively and provide hands-on learning and exploration in both large group and small group settings.
Endless learning opportunities in the classrooms encourage students to develop a love for learning by way of exploration. Teachers often use our natural surroundings – parks, gardens, and downtown – to encourage curiosity and investigation.
Music, art, and movement are woven into classroom instruction, as well as developed in related arts classes.
The curriculum is designed to meet learning standards and covers the five domains of school readiness for preschoolers. These domains are language and literacy development, cognition and general knowledge, approaches to learning, physical and motor development, and social and emotional development.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
